Frequently Asked Questions
What is eco-somatic healing?
Eco-somatic healing works with reconnecting to the body and the natural world through awareness, movement, creative practice, and sensory experience. It blends somatic (body-based) practices with ecological embodiment, helping you restore balance, presence, and belonging within yourself and the wider environment.
What can I expect in weekly creative classes online?
Weekly creative classes offer a nourishing space to reconnect with your body, creativity, and intuition through guided movement, expressive art, and reflection. You sign up for 4 classes at one time, committing to a month’s worth of weekly classes. This helps us to build a healing circle of trust and commitment working with the same people each week. Each class (depending on which one you sign up for) may include:
Creative Writing
Breathwork and Meditation
Free Movement & Art (such as oil pastel drawing or journaling) to explore what emerges
Optional sharing and group reflection in a supportive, nonjudgmental space
These classes are perfect for anyone seeking to express freely and reconnect with their inner wisdom—from the comfort of home.
How is eco-somatic practice different from traditional therapy or coaching?
Unlike traditional talk-based approaches, eco-somatic work emphasizes embodied experience—listening to the body’s wisdom, engaging with natural rhythms, and cultivating awareness through movement, breath, and creative expression. It’s not focused on diagnosis, but on deepening connection, insight, and regulation through the body.
What can I expect in an eco-somatic session?
Each session is 1-2 hours long and can held online or in person. You may explore grounding exercises, gentle movement, breathwork, creative expression, or nature-based reflection. Sessions are collaborative and paced with care, creating space for deep listening and renewal.
Do I need prior experience with yoga, art, or somatic work?
No experience is needed—just curiosity and willingness to explore. Sessions are adaptable for all levels and designed to meet you where you are.
How does nature play a role in the healing process?
We are Nature. By slowing down and attuning to the natural world you reconnect to cycles of balance, creativity, and belonging. Being in nature has also been shown to improve multiple health markers including reducing stress, increasing sense of joy and contentment, a regulated nervous system, amongst many more! It is also where many people find creative inspiration and insight.
Can eco-somatic practices help with stress, anxiety, or burnout?
Yes. Engaging the body, breath, and sensory awareness helps calm the nervous system, release stored tension, and restore balance. Many people find this work deeply grounding and supportive during times of transition and after prolonged periods of stress, grief, or loss.
What happens in an expressive arts session?
Expressive arts sessions invite creativity as a tool for self-discovery. Through free movement, oil pastel drawing, journaling, or sound, expression unfolds naturally. You don’t need to be “good at art”—the focus is on the process, not the product.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available both in person and online.
